1015Y Texas SuperSweet Onion is a large, yellow sweet onion with a slightly-flattened (granex) shape. This is one of the most popular short-day, sweet onion varieties for good reason. Although the maturity date is slightly longer than most short-day varieties, the size and taste of these onions are well worth it. The name is derived from the suggested time to plant this variety, October 15th. 1015Y was developed by Texas A&M University and produces sweet onions that average 1 lb and 4-5" in diameter. These onions will typically store for 2-3 months.
